An Autumn Wedding in Surrey

Saturday November the 6th came at the end of a very wet and windy week but fortunately it stayed dry for most of the day. Cathy and Steve were married in St Mark's church, a beautiful church sat on a small hill in the centre of the village of Peaslake, Surrey.

After the ceremony we travelled the short distance to Barnett Hill (www.sundialweddings.com/barnetthill), a majestic Queen Anne style manor house set in stunning grounds and woodland.

Cathy had chosen a bouquet of scarlet roses which mirrored the deep red of a maple tree in the grounds.


Autumn is a fantastic time of year to get married and the colours of the changing leaves can make for some stunning backdrops.

Wedding Photography at The Burford Bridge Hotel at the foot of Boxhill, Surrey

On 16th October 2010 I photographed the wedding of Dawn and Johnny at the Burford Bridge hotel in Surrey.

The Burford Bridge (http://www.burfordbridgehotel.weddings-guide.com/) is situated at the foot of Boxhill near Dorking, Surrey. Dawn and Johnny had both the ceremony and reception at the Hotel and it was a wonderful day. Here are a few of the images from the day.
The ceremony was held in the Tithe Barn a beautiful 17th Century barn which was re-erected in 1934.

The Wedding of Andrea & Anthony in Southsea, Hampshire by Sam Carter Photography

On a bright and sunny Portsmouth morning, Andrea arrived at St Jude's Church in Southsea, Portsmouth, dressed in a beautiful ivory wedding gown. Her sisters, the bridesmaids, were dressed in lilac and all looked beautiful and so relaxed.

Andrea and Anthony are a couple that, as soon as you meet them, you know they are perfect for each other. There is a real ease between them, and their friendship and love for each other really shines through.

After the ceremony we headed off to the Southsea Rose gardens for some photographs of the two of them before moving on to the Queens hotel for the wedding breakfast.

Wedding Photography for Natalie & Daivd at Guildford Registry Office and Dorking, Surrey, by Sam Carter Photography

On 18th September 2010 I photographed the wedding of Natalie & David.  They had the ceremony at Guildford Register Office before travelling across to Dorking in Surrey for the reception.

The reception was a wonderful country fete afternoon tea themed occasion, with scones and jam, sandwiches and fantastic cup cakes.  There was also a fantastic juke box supplying music for the afternoon.

The Wedding of Zoe & Ian at Titchfield Abbey, Hampshire by Sam Carter Photography

On 28th August 2010 I photographed the wedding of Zoe and Ian from Titchfield in Hampshire. They were the winners of a competition I ran back towards the beginning of the year to receive free wedding photography.

The ceremony took place at St John the Baptist Church in Titichfield and afterwards we travelled the short distance to Titchfield Abbey, a beautiful old abbey ruins, for some bride and groom shots.

Lifestyle Portrait Photography at Wagoner's Wells, Grayshott, for George by Sam Carter Photography

A couple of weeks ago I carried out a lifestyle portrait shoot for George. We headed down to Waggoner's Wells in Grayshott, Surrey and spent a leisurely hour walking around the woodland and lakes and photographing in various locations. George was a real star, and was relaxed in front of the camera and happy to play around with different poses and set ups.
