Wedding Photography for Yvonne & Richard at West End Church & Camberly Heath Golf Club, by Sam Carter Photography

Main website: http://www.samcarterphotography.com/

On 7th August the rain came down but it didn't dampen the spirits of Yvonne, Richard or any of the guests at their wedding.

Yvonne looked stunning and was a picture of serenity as she was walked down the aisle of West End church by her son, Rob. The bridesmaids looked fabulous in navy blue and navy and ivory dresses. The ceremony went without a hitch (pardon the pun) and as we left the church the rain lifted and the sun came out.

At Camberley Heath Golf Club the wedding breakfast guests were entertained by close-up magician Noel Qualter (http://www.noelqualter.com/) and beautiful music from a Harpist. As the light faded, the party got started with live music and dancing. It was a fantastic day and a couple of rainbows even put in an appearance in the late afternoon sky.

Pre-Wedding Photography Shoot for Andrea & Tony at SouthSea Rose Garden by Wedding Photographer Sam Carter

Main Website: http://www.samcarterphotography.com/

In true British Summer time tradition, the weather has been very changeable. It can be sunny in the morning and pouring with rain in the afternoon. Last Sunday I woke up to find it tipping down outside and my heart sank. I was due to photograph a pre-wedding shoot for a great couple, Andrea and Tony, that afternoon at the Southsea Rose Garden, but if this rain kept up we would have to re-think the shoot. Fortunately a few hours later the Sun burnt away the clouds and chased away the rain.

Southsea Rose Garden is a real hidden gem. tucked away along the sea front in Southsea near Portsmouth, it is housed in the remains of Lumps Fort which dates back to the 1860's. It is a sanctuary of peace and tranquility just metres from the popular Southsea sea front.

Andrea and Tony were a dream to photograph. They are very comfortable with each other in front of the camera and happy to play with the camera and have some fun. We took several shots around the rose garden and also in the Japanese garden next door. Here are a few of the images from the shoot.

Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot in Dorking for Natalie & David by Hampshire & Surrey Wedding Photographer, Sam Carter

Last Saturday I carried out a pre-wedding shoot for Natalie and David whose wedding I am photographing in September.

They chose to have the shoot at David's parents house and garden in Dorking, giving a wonderful, natural backdrop and relaxed feel to the images.

Here are a few of the images from the day.

Pre-wedding or engagement shoots are a great way to get used to having your photograph taken before your wedding day. You get to see how your photographer works and your photographer gets to know what you do and don't like so they can get the very best shots for you on your wedding day - almost like a photographic rehearsal.
We offer our clients the option of having one of their pre-wedding shoot images turned into a wonderful dedication board for their guests to sign at the wedding. It makes a great keepsake from your wedding day and a wonderful piece of wall art to hang in your home.

Photography for Old Thorns Country & Golf Club, Hampshire by Sam Carter Photography

Main website: www.samcarterphotography.com

This week started off for me with a photo shoot for Old Thorns Country & Golf Club near Liphook in Hampshire. The day was a beautiful sunny day and the club wanted some images for their new brochure

After photographing the various facilities around the club house, including the spa, pool and apartments, I ventured outside onto the course itself and went for a little trip around the 200 acres that are home to the 18 hole golf course. I would like to say I walked the whole way round, but I am afraid I wasn't that good and instead took a golf cart.

The course is set in around 400 acres of woodland and hosts some picturesque views across the valley and downs.

The club also hosts weddings and is licenced for civil ceremonies. It is a fantastic building and if you are getting married go along and take a look at their facilities - http://www.oldthorns.com/

If you have a business that could do with updating its website or brochure call us now and see what we can do for you.

Portrait & Wedding Photographer - A Dream Job

Main website: www.samcarterphotography.com

In a previous life my job involved sitting behind a desk, inside all year round, with all of the stress and grief which goes with such an environment, people I met used to ask me what I did for a living. I would tell them and then get all of the ' wow, that sounds so interesting' or 'you must really love your job' type comments. I would nod and agree not wishing to unload my lack of satisfaction and misery onto others but the truth was, I didn't like my job, even though I worked for an organisation which a lot of people would really like to work for. I was well paid and had security but something was missing. Flash forward to the present and now when people say 'wow that sounds interesting' or 'you must really love your job' I can say with all sincerity that I absolutely do love my job!

Being a photographer isn't easy or a walk in the park - its hard work, very hard work, but it is also a lot of fun. There is something very special about being asked to capture special moments in peoples lives. In essence you are being asked to help enhance peoples memories of events and occasions, to freeze time on a point in their lives, and that is a real honour.

When I carry out someones portrait photography my aim is to capture their spirit, personality, passion and soul in a wonderful image which they will be proud to show off to everyone they know. Its not just about getting someone to pose in a certain way, its about finding out about the person, what they like and don't like, what makes them tick, and then transferring that into their images so they get a portrait which is truly them.

Photographing a wedding is more than just capturing specific events during the day. When I photograph a wedding I am looking to also capture the emotion and atmosphere of the day, and the spirit and love between the bride and groom, the look of pride on the bride's Mum and Dad's faces when they see their little girl in her wedding dress, the look of anticipation on the groom's face while he is waiting for his bride to arrive, the first kiss, the first dance, the happiness, the emotion, the love....

I love taking the bride and groom off for a little while to get some images of just the two of them. This is usually the only time during the wedding day that they get to be alone, away from their guests and is a perfect opportunity to photograph the two of them together as the love and feeling for each other really shines through, capturing the little loving glances, the unsaid words, the secret smiles and the unique beauty and soul of their relationship. It is about capturing the love they have for each other and their bond and their happiness.

Being a photographer is hard work. But you get to meet some amazing people, see some wonderful occasions, be a part of the most important day of peoples lives, and that is a privilege.

Wedding Photography by Sam Carter Photography - The Wedding of Emma & Danny at Cathrington Church, Clanfield, Hampshire

Main website: www.SamCarterPhotography.com

On 8th May I had the privilege of carrying out the wedding photography for Emma & Danny at their wedding in Catherington, Hampshire.

The weather was not great and rain and drizzle fell for most of the day but that didn't dampen anyones spirits and the wedding ceremony went without a hitch (apart from the expected one!). Emma looked stunning in her ivory dress with a simple but very elegant pink bouquet, and the bridesmaids looked like little princesses in their pink dresses.

With six children to look after I really don't know how they managed to find the time to organise and arrange their wedding, but they managed it and it was a fantastic day, and despite the poor weather we still managed to get some great photographs of Danny & Emma outside the church.
